In a presentation made by Francisco Caeiro, CEO of Brithol Michcoma Mozambique, Lda at the Central Bank of Nigeria, on the 20th of August 2009, the CBN was impressed by the security strength of Brithol Michcoma’s solutions for cheque fraud prevention. In a comment, Deputy Director of Banking Operations of the CBN, Mr. Abayomi Atoloye, stated that it was “unlike and far advanced than any we’ve seen so far” and expressed optimism about the possible use of the security features proposed by Brithol Michcoma by Nigerian banks. Francisco Caeiro later revealed that having visited most commercial banks and discussing the potential of the solutions developed by Brithol Michcoma, that the reaction has been such that “Nigeria could soon become the largest markets in terms of installed base” for cheque fraud prevention solutions.
