The personalization of cheques is serious business. Handling base stock, incorrect prints, eliminate cheque duplication, keep accurate stock of base stock sheets and other issues at personalization stage can be a troublesome issue. APES allows printers and banks to keep accurate records of every personalization stage, while still having an incredible flexible system depending on its own methodology for personalizing the cheques.
APES is a Windows based system, developed together with industry experts to create a sound application that will cater for any size of printer or bank. The application will streamline the personalization process, reduce human errors by reducing human intervention and guessing, as well as significantly reduce time to market resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
The software may personalize cheques with standard E13B codes, name, branch, currency, personalization and Brithol Michcoma’s proprietary 2D 256bit encrypted bar code system (OPTIONAL), which may contain most information the client wishes to encrypt giving it greater security by protecting cheque data integrity. Items such as customer picture, signature and fingerprint may also be encrypted on the 2D barcode allowing remote branches to read and verify cheque authenticity more easily.
The use of proprietary Object Positioning Technology (OPT), placing micro dots at random, depending on a number of checksums taken from customer data, gives an extra layer of security for any attempted tampering or cloning of the cheque. APES also allows for the introduction micro images and micro text to further enhance security.
Complete register on arrival of all base stock sheets, with user names, work station, date and time allow for complete accountability of who, what and when.
Pre and post personalisation Quality Assurance process ensures continuous Quality Assurance process. Pre production QA ensures base stock sheets are ready for production without any mistakes and a accurate stock taking. Post production QA ensures that the personalisation process is correct, information is legible and printed data is according to respective production batch files. High speed scanners ensure automatic data verification.
Reports can be issued immediately, hourly, daily, or according to given periods, all defined by the system administrator.
The number of printers and scanners depends on customer needs and can be easily defined by the completion of a questionnaire prior to system acquisition. Basic system includes software and license for one work station, printer and scanner are compulsory but are defined according as per customer needs.
Printer is "duplex manual/auto" to allow E13B and 2D bar code (OPTIONAL) printing, and where required MICR ready. Scanner is "duplex" and has different capacities as per customer requirements.
Fraud by cheque tampering is based on the capacity of falsifying visible information. APES beats the fraudsters by making such information invisible to the fraudster and visible only to the bank, allowing for electronic comparison of the visible information with the coded information.
